BuiltGreen™ homes are 3rd party certified, energy efficient, and environmentally responsible homes. This label adds value your home by promoting the use of resource-efficient, environmentally friendly, construction practices and products.

The Guiding Principles of BuiltGreen™

The program is voluntary

Builder and Renovator members participate in the BuiltGreen™ program because it provides learning opportunities for continuous improvement in serving not only their customers, but the environment. It's a matter of making the right environmental stewardship choice.

Training is essential

All Builder and Renovator members must be trained in BuiltGreen™ practices, policies and procedures prior to building their BuiltGreen™ projects.

BuiltGreen™ is Flexible and Affordable

BuiltGreen™ is a nation-wide program that must take into account the variety of climates that are encompassed from coast to coast to coast. Taking these needs into consideration, it offers four different levels of building that allow builders, renovators and consumers to make the best choice for their budgets.

BuiltGreen™ is Not Cost Prohibitive

By providing training, supplier relationships and the four different levels of achievement (bronze, silver, gold and platinum), the BuiltGreen™ program ensures successful participation based on three things: Cost-Effective Housing, Healthier Housing, and Housing that has a lower impact on the Environment.

Third Party Certification is Critical

BuiltGreen™ Canada conducts regular reviews of each builder and renovator to ensure that they are maintaining the integrity of the program. If builders and/or renovators do not comply with BuiltGreen's standards, corrective action is taken in terms of training and coaching.
